I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the package and saw a tidy row of individually sealed sticks laid out like little wooden soldiers on my counter. Each miswak stick is wrapped in clear plastic, and you can actually see the different shades of natural wood through the wrappers, which gives them a fresh, straight from the tree look. The pack I received had plenty of sticks so I do not feel like I need to ration them, and it makes it easy to keep a few for home and a few for on the go.

Using these has turned into a fun alternative to my regular toothbrush routine. I peel back the plastic, nibble the end until it softens into bristles, then gently brush my teeth with the fibery tip. The taste is mild and earthy, and after a few minutes my mouth feels clean and my breath smells noticeably fresher, especially compared to skipping toothpaste entirely. It almost feels like a little ritual instead of a chore, which honestly makes me more likely to reach for one after meals.

The included holder is a smart bonus because I can toss a stick into the container and then into my bag without worrying about it touching anything questionable. That makes these especially handy for travel or long days out when I do not want to carry a full toothbrush and toothpaste kit. The individually wrapped sticks in the photo also tell me that unused ones will stay clean and dry until I need them, which adds some extra peace of mind.

One small thing that annoyed me at first is that a couple of the sticks in my batch were slightly thinner and more curved than the others, like they did not get the memo about standing up straight for the photo shoot. It does not affect how they work, but it makes them a little more awkward to grip until you get used to it. Overall though I really enjoy using these miswak sticks.

I’m interested in earth friendly and chemical-free alternatives so I thought I would give these a try. They come individually wrapped in heavy plastic. The outside feels as though they are covered in wax. I’m not sure what it is, but it’s soft and very easily whittled back with any knife. I cleared off about half an inch to start, then washed the outside as per directions, softened the fibers with water, and gave it a try! At first it had almost a peppery odor, then lands on kind of a woody earthy odor. It isn’t big, and as per the directions, it does fade in a few days. For me it’s not an issue once it fades, and the peppery smell goes completely away. After use, wash off with water, like you do your toothbrush, then store in the provided container, which has a hole in the top so that the brush dries.

I really liked the effect of this. I have receding gums that have developed wells at the gum line that my toothbrush often misses. Food deposits there an just stays. Instead of a back and forth motion of the regular toothbrush, this provides a targeted up and down motion that really helps me with this issue. The bristles are firm so before use, wet them and nibble a bit to soften them. They soften right up but still retain their rigidity. I have sensitive gums so I worried they might be too harsh, but that has not been the case. It’s not painful, but the long bristles are very effective for my issue.

For me, I will use my toothbrush and this together. I don’t see this as a stand alone toothbrush, but you could make that work if you wanted to. I like that when the bristles become spent, you just cut them off, whittle farther down, and start with a new “brush.” I like it. You get a lot of these for the money.

This is my first time using a Miswak stick, and I’m very impressed. Sometimes you see these social media trends, and they don’t live up to the hype. This one definitely did. I noticed more whiteness in my teeth and healthier gums after just 10 minutes of use. It removed some very stubborn stains around my gumline that I’ve had for months. It was as good as a professional cleaning in my opinion. What’s really nice is you don’t need water or toothpaste. In fact, you can just use it while you’re watching TV or doing anything else where you don’t even need to be in the bathroom to use it. I love that it gently freshens my breath without anything too overpowering. The instructions were very easy to understand, and there’s also a lot of videos online if it’s your first time using this kind of stick. The bristles were extremely gentle and not too tough. If your gums are unhealthy and you brush too hard, you may cut your gums, but overall, I didn’t have this issue. I love that it came with a plastic holder to keep dust and dirt away from the stick. I feel like it’s good value for how many sticks come in a pack. I’ve noticed that I don’t really need to trim them every single time I brush. I would say every other time I will trim the top off. So these will last quite a while. One stick will easily last one or two weeks. You also don’t need to use them daily to see results. Even once or twice a week might be sufficient for most people.

I’ve always wanted to try miswak so i finally bit the bullet. I love it. The taste isn’t the best, but my teeth are completely rid of plaque and I think it makes my breath smell better too. Especially love the storage container it comes with.
